Planned on the ground
Our office is in Colombo 7 — not a call centre overseas.
Named hotels upfront
You see the exact property and room category before you commit.
Clear cancellation terms
FIT and GIT tiers written out in full — nothing buried in fine print.
Reachable while you travel
One WhatsApp thread from first enquiry to your departure flight.
Two things, done properly
V Go Ceylon plans private journeys across Sri Lanka and full-service destination weddings on the island. Everything below is arranged by the same team, so a wedding party and its guest tour never fall between two suppliers.
Three routes travellers keep asking for
Each one is a private tour with your own vehicle and chauffeur-guide. Every package below can be shortened, extended or reshaped — these are starting points, not fixed departures.
Grand Island Loop
Colombo → Sigiriya → Kandy → Nuwara Eliya → Tangalle → Galle → Colombo
The full island loop at an unhurried pace: Sigiriya's rock fortress, the Temple of the Tooth, a working tea estate in the hills, then several nights of genuine beach time in the deep south.
Culture, Hills & Whales
Sigiriya → Kandy → Nuwara Eliya → Mirissa → Colombo
Two nights in the Cultural Triangle with a Minneriya jeep safari, a hill-country tea experience, then down to Mirissa for a dawn boat out to blue and sperm whale grounds.
Highlights of Sri Lanka
Colombo → Kandy → Nuwara Eliya → Galle → Colombo
The classic first-timer's route in a single week — sacred Kandy, the tea hills around Nuwara Eliya, and two nights inside the ramparts of Galle Fort on the south coast.
Why no price tag? Sri Lankan hotel rates move with the season, and a family of four in a suite is not the same trip as two people in a superior double. Every V Go Ceylon tariff is quoted per person on a sharing-room basis in US Dollars, against your real dates. Send your dates and you get the actual number, in writing.

The stops that make the itinerary
Every V Go Ceylon route is built around real, ticketed, time-of-day-dependent experiences — not a list of towns you drive through. A few that appear again and again:
- Sigiriya Lion Rock
- Temple of the Tooth Relic
- Dambulla Cave Temple
- Minneriya jeep safari
- Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage
- Nine Arch Bridge
- Ramboda Falls
- Gregory Lake
- Hakgala Botanical Garden
- Galle Dutch Fort
- Madu River boat safari
- Mirissa whale watching
Timing matters more than most guides admit. Elephants gather at Minneriya in August and September; Pinnawala's bathing sessions run 10:00–12:00 and 14:00–16:00; the Temple of the Tooth holds puja three times a day. We schedule around those windows, not around a driver's convenience.

A country you can actually see in a week
The island is roughly the size of Ireland, which is what makes it work. You can wake up in the Cultural Triangle, take tea at 1,900 metres the same afternoon, and be on a south-coast beach the next day — without a single internal flight.
It also runs two monsoons, so there is always a coast in season. That single fact is the reason our itineraries change shape between May and October and between December and April, and why we ask for your dates before recommending a route.
- 1,340 km of tropical coastline
- Eight UNESCO World Heritage sites
- One of the world's 25 biodiversity hotspots
- The world's third-largest tea producer
Before you send that first message
The five things people ask us most often about planning a trip to Sri Lanka.
Six to seven days covers the core loop of Colombo, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya and Galle. Seven to eight days adds Sigiriya and whale watching in Mirissa. Ten to eleven days lets you travel at a slower pace and add real beach time in Tangalle or Bentota. Most of our guests land somewhere between 6 and 11 nights.
All our itineraries are private. You travel with your own vehicle and English-speaking chauffeur-guide, and the day-by-day plan is built around your interests rather than a fixed departure date. Group arrangements (GIT) are available for families and larger parties travelling together — the cancellation tiers differ slightly, and we set those out in writing.
Tariffs are quoted per person on a sharing-room basis in US Dollars, and they depend on your travel dates, hotel category and group size. Sri Lankan hotel rates shift considerably by season, so we prepare a written quotation for your exact dates instead of publishing a fixed number that would be wrong half the year. Send your dates and you will get the real figure.
Almost every itinerary starts and ends at Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) in Katunayake, about an hour north of central Colombo. Airport pickup and drop-off in a private air-conditioned vehicle is included in all V Go Ceylon packages, whatever time your flight lands.
The west and south coasts and the hill country are at their best from December to April. The east coast is best from May to September. Because the island runs two separate monsoons, there is a good region to travel in during every month of the year — we simply plan the route around the season you are travelling in.
